Amelia Adams, LPC
Amelia is a Licensed Personal Counselor, and has been with Alabama Psychiatric Services since 2001. She specializes in therapeutic services for adults in the Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP). Amelia received her bachelor’s degree from David Lipscomb University in 1990 and her master’s degree from Alabama A & M University in 1992. In addition to her experience, Amelia served on the Board of Directors for the Mental Health Association of Madison County from 2003-2007

Linda Bowman, LCSW-PIP
Linda Bowman is a Licensed Certified Social Worker who specializes in working with adults. Her areas of expertise include: grief recovery, women’s issues, sexual addictions and abuse, adoption, infertility, depression, and anxiety. Linda’s concentration also includes marital therapy and infidelity recovery. Linda received her Bachelor and Master Degrees in Communication Disorders from the University of South Alabama and her Masters of Social Work from Alabama A&M University in 2006. Linda primarily uses a cognitive behavioral and solutions focused approach to treatment. She is a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors and educational consultant for Ramah International.

Jay Byham, LPC
Jay Byham is a Licensed Professional Counselor who joined Alabama Psychiatric Services in February of 2014. He enjoys working with adults in the areas of depression and other mood disorders, anxiety, life adjustments, family concerns, chronic illness, stress, anger management, spiritual concerns, and substance abuse. Jay earned his undergraduate degree in music education and has a Masters of Religious Education from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, as well as a Masters of Counseling Psychology from Alabama A & M University. He is a member of the American and Alabama Counseling Associations, the Alabama Mental Health Counselors Association and the Alabama Association of Addictions and Offenders Counselors.

Brenda Chynoweth, LPC
Brenda Chynoweth is a Licensed Professional Counselor who primarily works with children and adolescents.  She joined Alabama Psychiatric Services, PC in 2003.  Brenda received her bachelor’s degree from the University of North Alabama and her Master in Clinical Psychology from Alabama A & M University.  Areas of concentration include depression, anxiety disorders, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, family therapy, self esteem, interpersonal relationships, and parenting skills.  Treatment approaches include cognitive behavior therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, psychodynamic, and behavior modification.

Grace Crawford, LPC
Grace Crawford is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Alabama and is also a Nationally Certified Counselor. She joined Alabama Psychiatric Services in 2012, and serves as the therapist for the Adolescent Intensive Outpatient (IOP) program. Grace received her bachelor’s degree from Auburn University and received her Masters of Education in Community Agency Counseling from Auburn University. Her areas of concentration include substance abuse/dependency, treatment of adolescents, and family therapy specifically in addiction and in the treatment of adolescents.

Julie Fisher Dean, LCSW 
Julie Fisher Dean, Licensed Certified Social Worker, has been the evening therapist for the Chemical Dependency IOP Program since November 2012. Julie received her Bachelor of Social Work degree from the University of North Alabama in 1992 and practiced primarily with children and at-risk families. In 2006, she began practicing in the field of adult mental health and after receiving her Masters of Social Work degree from Alabama A&M University in 2008, she specialized her practice in the treatment of adolescent and adult substance abuse/dependency. Julie has over 20 years experience in the treatment of children, individuals, family, and group therapy.

Sandra Griffin, LPC
Sandra Griffin is a Licensed Professional Counselor who primarily works with adults, couples/families and some adolescents. Sandra has experience in working in a variety of settings - outpatient, inpatient, residential treatment and college/university. Sandra earned her bachelor’s degree from Oakwood University and a Master in Counseling Psychology degree from Alabama A& M University. Her areas of interests/concentration include chemical dependency, codependency, ACOA issues, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, adjustment disorders, interpersonal relationships, grief, and marital/family therapy.

H. Stan Kimble, Sr., LPC
Stan Kimble is a Licensed Professional Counselor who joined Alabama Psychiatric Services Partial Hospitalization Program in April of 2011. He has a Bachelor of Arts in History with a minor in Psychology from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa where he graduated in 1972. Also, Stan is a graduate of Jacksonville State University where he received a Master’s in Public Administration in 1976, a Master’s in Criminal Justice in 1978, and a Master’s in Counseling in 1999. He has over 16 years of counseling experience in the field of Substance Abuse.

Debra St. Charles-Keele, LCSW-PIP
Debra St. Charles-Keele is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Debra received her master’s degree in Social Work from Alabama A&M University. She received her undergraduate degree from Athens State University in Behavioral Science. Debra has fifteen years experience working in the mental health field providing services for children, adolescents and adults. Debra provides services for individuals, couple, and groups. Debra uses an eclectic approach to therapy. She utilizes various treatment modalities to optimize patient’s success. Debra specializes in bipolar, attention deficit disorder, sexual abuse, stress and anger management, women’s issues, co-dependency, adjustment disorders among others.

Teresa Steele (T.C) Cargile, LPC
T.C. Cargile is a Licensed Professional Counselor who joined Alabama Psychiatric Services in 2011. T.C. received her bachelor’s degree in Social Work in 1987, and her master’s degree in Community Based Counseling in 1996 from the University of North Alabama. She primarily works with adult patients, and has over 14 years of experience working with adults and adolescents in individual, marital, family and group counseling. T.C.’s areas of concentration are: sexual abuse, domestic violence, grief, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, post traumatic stress disorder, attention deficit disorder, bulimia, co-dependency, chemical addiction, stress and anger management, pain management and self-esteem. She uses an eclectic approach in counseling based on the unique needs of the individual.

Leslie W. Smith, LPC
Leslie Smith is a Licensed Professional Counselor who specializes in therapeutic services for adults. She joined Alabama Psychiatric Services in September, 2010, with experience in outpatient, inpatient, partial hospitalization, and residential treatment. Leslie earned a bachelor's degree from Athens State University and a Master in Community Counseling degree from the University of North Alabama. Her areas of interest include addiction, ACOA issues, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, adjustment disorders, interpersonal relationships, grief, and eating disorders. She is currently involved in individual, couples, and group therapy at APS.

James L. Taylor, LPC
James Taylor is a Licensed Professional Counselor who primarily works with children and adolescents. He joined Alabama Psychiatric Services, PC in 2008. James received his bachelor degree from Abilene Christian University in 2000 and a Master in Counseling Psychology from Alabama A&M University in 2005. Areas of interest include ADHD, oppositional defiant disorder, conduct disorder, adolescent sex offender treatment. Treatment approaches include cognitive behavior therapy, family therapy, and behavior modification.
