Timothy Whalen, M.D.
Dr. Timothy Whalen practices child, adolescent, and adult psychiatry in the Florence office of Alabama Psychiatric Services. He enjoys working with families and patients of all ages. Dr. Whalen came to APS in 2006 after working 10 years in private practice in Maryland and five years in public psychiatry in coastal North Carolina. He trained in psychiatry at John Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore after completing medical school at Ohio State University and an internship in Family Practice at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.
Andrew Wilkerson, M.D.
Dr. Wilkerson was born and raised in Alexandria, Louisiana. He was awarded his B.S. (summa cum laude) degree in Zoology at Louisiana Tech University, in Ruston, Louisiana in 1982. In 1988, he completed his M.D. degree at Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, Louisiana. Dr. Wilkerson’s post graduate training was completed during the first four of the eight years he remained on active duty in the United States Navy. He completed an internship in Basic Medicine in 1989 at the Naval Hospital in Oakland, California. In 1992, he completed his residency training in psychiatry at the Naval Hospital, San Diego, California. Dr. Wilkerson has maintained certification in psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology since 1994.
Dr. Wilkerson has been with Alabama Psychiatric Services since June of 1998. He remains active in several professional organizations, including the American Psychiatric Association, American Medical Association and the Medical Association of the State of Alabama. Dr. Wilkerson resides in southern middle Tennessee.
