Babatunde Abolade, M.D.

Yelena Chistyakova, M.D., Ph.D.
Yelena Chistyakova, MD, PhD is a board eligible adult psychiatrist who joined Alabama Psychiatric Services in September 2012. Dr.Chistyakova worked as an internist in the Ukraine after she completed her studies at the Ukrainian Academy of Medicine and Dentistry in 1986. She completed two years of fellowship at the Kharkov Endocrinology Research Institute and three years of research in psychosomatic medicine at the Kharkov Institute of Advanced Medical Training in the Ukraine. After completing Ross University Medical School in 2005, she received adult psychiatry training at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinic and continued to work as an associate in the department of psychiatry at Carver Medical School in Iowa City, IA. She was the medical director of an inpatient eating disorder treatment program and partial hospitalization eating disorder treatment program before relocating to Montgomery to join APS.

Munazzah Khawaja, M.D.
Munazzah Khawaja, M.D. is Board Certified in Adult Psychiatry, Forensic Psychiatry, Psychosomatic Medicine and is a diplomat of the American Academy of Anti-Aging and Regenerative Medicine (the treatment focus of which places an emphasis on Orthomolecular and Functional medicine). Dr. Khawaja completed premedical studies in England, medical studies including 6-month internships in Internal Medicine and General Surgery in Pakistan, received Adult Psychiatry training at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, and Forensic Psychiatry training at Harvard Medical School. Before joining Alabama Psychiatric Services in August of 2009, she was working in a medium security male correctional facility, but most of Dr. Khawaja’s experience has been practicing psychiatry in a hospital setting.
